War of 1812 British Foot

I'm on a bit of a roll with 1/72 figures so I'm going to keep this going as long as I can. Today I pushed some more 1/72 "British" troops through the painting process.

First up are as bunch that I'm going to term Upper Canadian militia. These are extra Imex Alamo troops I had. This unit (from what I can tell) was issued with red jackets but uniforms were pretty dodgy their first year. So red jackets with yellow trim but some are cut short and there is a lot of variety in head gear and pants.

The second group are loosely painted as Lower Canadian militia--something of coureur des bois meets bon homme. I think they would do for almost any militia unit.

This last group I painted up to look (roughly) like Caldwell's rangers, with green coats and black trim with grey pants. I'd field these as irregulars. Again not a perfect uniform match, but definitive source material is a bit tricky to find on some of these units.

Up next: Some British cavalry/dragoons are drying. Then onto some superheroes. And then back to some more 1/72 British line troops and perhaps a camp. Somewhere in there I'll ben playing some For Honour and Glory with Bruce.

Thanks Ray. It is hard to find good info on militia "uniforms" which make sit easier to sneak in out of period figures to use them up!
