Vive le revolution!

A friend dropped me by this 54mm figure that he picked up in, I think, Cuba (that is the marking on the bottom, anyhow). It is a pre-painted collector figure.

I assumed this was Che or Trudeau's dad, but I was assured it was just a simple, freedom-loving peasant.  I did a quick highlight and wash (like 5 minutes?) and I'm super happy with the result.

Up next: Some Star Wars and then some Scooby-Doo!

Ruh roh

Santa brought me some Scooby-Doo figures for Christmas and I'm working my was through that. First up are Shaggy and Scooby from Hasslefree miniatures. Nice figures. The rest of the gang (but no Scrappy-Doo, thank God) are underway. I also have some villains from Crooked Dice miniatures.

While I was painting these, I also decided to redo the basing of some of my other Scooby gang figures to match what I do now. I don't recall who made these 25mm Buffy the Vampire Slayer figures (maybe GZG figures?). 

I think the sculptor did a creditable job on Giles, Buffy, and Willow. I'm less taken with Tara, Xander and Cordellia (I think Xander was a converted generic vamp and I do like his bowling shirt).

Spike, Drusilla and Angel are okay.

And then a couple of random vamp sidekicks for the Master.

Up next: More Star Wars Imperial Assault and some Scooby stuff.

Imperial Assault... errr... imperials

A friend found some more Imperial Assault figure sets for me to paint so, from the blighted wastes of Tatooine, here are the first figures. Basing is as requested by my buddy and, I presume, has something to do with the scenarios in the game. Or he's just screwing with me. Whatever.

Three storm troopers for the desert plus the Emperor for indoors. Then a jawa for the desert, naturally.

Then there was a Dewback rider. There are two torsos for this figure. Buddy with the long stick (which was warped and responded well to hot water) gets a grey shoulder dealie.

There is also a named character (Captain something or other) with an orange shoulder dealie and a rifle.

As usual, nice figures. More are underway and I have a couple of poses that match some of the Star Wars Legion figures I have for sale so I should be able to do a size comparison. Up next tho, the Scooby gang.

Random GW dudes

I spent most of the holiday season outdoors so not much painting got done. I did finish these two GW dudes for a friend.

They are huge and I imagine that is somehow important in the GW universe.

Nice enough figures and I'm happy to have them done and off my painting table. Next up: Some Star Wars Imperial Assault figures.
