WW2 British Desert

Some more 1/72-scale British troops for the 8th Army are done. First up are two Valentines. Nice kits with lousy vinyl tracks (I ended up stapling these--staples hidden by fenders). Glad these fellows came with crew figures.

I also painted up two metal kits I picked up in a big trade with Tim in Saskatoon: a jeep and a Mark VI.

Up next: I rebased a bunch of Tim's British Infantry (to try and get something "done") and the club runs next Tuesday.

The Valentines came out good - what kits are they?

Nice use of the backdrop bit of scenary from the B1/FT-17 kits - I have a couple of these that I should make use of.

Thanks. These were old kits I got from Terry. I don't think they were Esci but maybe Hasegawa or Heller?

Hi Bob,
Very nice job! Could you please tell me what color you used for the sand color on the tanks. I have looked around and have not found any color I'm happy with at all. Many thanks.

Jerry, it is a wash of Vallejo British uniform brown over a white primer with a black wash on top. If you look at the menu bar on the right you will see a tutorial about painting armour with ashes and this is the same process.
